Principles of Advertising

(Snickers Commercial – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NySN_plfiNI) This commercial was very funny because we grew up on Mr. T (The A-Team). This commercial was about a person that was playing soccer and he gets hurt. Mr. T rides in with an army armed tank crushing cars and comes up to the person and says “Quit yo jibber jabber you ain’t hurt, you pathetic” then he throws the Snickers at him and grunts. At the end of the commercial, the tag line says, “Snickers, get some nuts” We found this not only effective but also humorous, so now every time we see a Snickers we will think of Mr. T.

We think that the target audience are those who enjoy humor and candy bars. This can appeal to teens all the way to the a more mature audience.
